- Sero Surveillance
The Sero-surveillance program is being proposed for active case finding, testing, and contact tracing as reports indicate that SARS-CoV-2 causes asymptomatic infection. The population-based sero-epidemiological studies will help to determine the burden of COVID 19 infection at the community level, to monitor the trends in the transmission of SARS-CoV-2 infection and help generate evidence on the role of asymptomatic and mild infections in transmission. The outcomes will help in designing and implementing suitable Coronavirus containment measures. The sero-surveillance platform data would serve as a base to determine the sero-prevalence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in the local communities, and further would help monitor the trends of sero-prevalence for SARS-CoV-2 infection in the general population and high burden cities, determine the socio-demographic risk factors for SARS-CoV-2 infection, and delineate the geographical spread of the infection in the general population and hotspot cities.
