BIRAC-New

Each year BIRAC supports 5 BIG Grantees to attend an intensive, two week intensive entrepreneurial boot-camp programme: “Ignite” at Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. From 2013 to 2016, twenty BIG grantees have participated in the intensive training programme, providing the Bio-entrepreneurs, opportunities to transform their innovative ideas into a business project and leverage the networking platform at the CambridgeEntrepreneurial ecosystem

BIRAC and Centre of Entrepreneurial Learning (CfEL) of Judge Business School, University of Cambridge have initiated a partnership that enables five BIRAC supported applicants to take part in CfEL’s flagship intensive entrepreneurial boot-camp programme called “IGNITE”, which is aimed at providing academics (PhDs, post-docs and scientists) entrepreneurial opportunities to explore their innovative ideas and transform them into a business project. CfEL provides one week intense mentorship and training to the BIRAC supported candidates and for second week encourage them to interact and learn from the Cambridge’s entrepreneurial cluster.

The two batches of 10 BIRAC supported IGNITE candidates from the pool of its Ignition Grant awardees and Stanford India Biodesign fellows had visited Cambridge in July 2013 and 2014. The participants have appreciated the BIRAC’s effort in providing international platforms to Indian bio-innovators to increase their competency and enhance capacity building.
