NanoCrySP is a bottom-up platform spray drying based tecchnology for generation of nanocrystals in presence of small molecule excipient like mannitol. The excipient play three roles in generation and stabilization of nanocrystals- i heterogenous nucleation ii Plasticization iii Physical barrier to crystal growth. The nanocrystals of size 1000 nm are obtained embedded in the matrix of excipient 5-20 micron . The nanocrystals would enhance solubility, dissolution rate, decrease the onset of action manifested as left shift in Tmax , reduction in food effect and intersubject variability

USP: The technology is readily industrially scaleable, produces solid powder of NCSD which requires minimal downstream processing to covert it to final dosage form. In contrst to exixting top down based milling techniques and bottom up methods of nanocrystal generation, NaoCrySP offers minimal drug degradation and impurities during the process. Technology also opens up newer delivery routes for nanocrystals like in pulmonary and topical routes
