Recombinant antigen-based ELISA kits developed for sero-diagnosis of ND, IBD, IB of poultry would replace the imported kits and help the stake holders in precisely estimating the time of booster vaccinations to prolong the immune status of birds.

Title: Certificate of analysis has been prepared for the three recombinant proteins namely, VP2, NP and N of IBDV, NDV and IBV respectively. Hands-on training was given to the research scientists of M/s Genomix CARL Pvt. Ltd., Pulivendula at the Recombinant DNA Laboratory, Division of Veterinary Biotechnology, ICAR-IVRI. Three batches of the kits were prepared as per the standard SOPs employing the GMP procedures at the collaborator’s industrial facility. The stability study for each of the kits has been completed and kits after fabrication are being produced in bulk. The three diagnostic kits have been sent to different laboratories for validation.

Innovator: Division of Veterinary Biotechnology, Indian Veterinary Research Institute

USP: The kits developed can be used under point of care settings with minimal technical expertise, so can be afforded by any common user. In addition, the products developed are much cost effective than the imported kits. The developed kits would play a pivotal role in achieving the goal and would be a suitable alternative to the expensive imported kits that are in vogue in the country.
