Avian sourced Anti-Snake-Venom ASV against venoms of Cobra, Krait, Russell’s viper and Saw-scaled viper

Title: The chicken egg yolk sourced anti-snake venom raised against the Big Four snake venoms were found efficient in neutralizing the toxic effects of the venom. IgY antibodies were raised in white leghorn chickens and booster doses were given at 14 days interval to increase the antibody production. The antibody titre against all four venoms was maintained 1:64,000 at the end of 140th day, detected by ELISA. The lethal toxicity of the venoms was tested in mice models and results were found significant in comparison to previous studies. The pharmacological activities of the venoms including hemolytic activity, pro-coagulant activity, edema formation, hemorrhagic activity and their neutralization was tested by in-vitro and in-vivo methods. The effectiveness of ASV IgY in neutralizing the venom induced pathological effects were observed to be significant in a dose dependent manner. The comparison study of neutralization potential of IgY with commercial antivenom IgG indicated that IgY was able to exhibit comparable ne
